<p>Deborah Taylor Cassel took the hand of Jesus and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>Debbie was born on January 17, 1952, the eldest of six children to the late Robert and Lucille (Roberto) Taylor. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Steven G. Cassel; her beloved children, Jennifer (Erik), Steven L. (Jennifer) and Matthew (Ryan); and her precious grandchildren, Peyton, Emma, Mackenzie, Gavin and Mason. She is also survived by her five siblings, Tina (John) Christian, Robert (Heather) Taylor, David (Sherry) Taylor, Kathy (Carl) Allen and Eileen (Mark) Tulanowski.</p><p><br></p><p>Debbie grew up in Lansdale but lived in Harleysville for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School and Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. As a nurse, she dedicated herself to patient care in the North Penn and Grandview Hospitals and to clinical research for RPR and Merck Inc. Pharmaceuticals for more than 40 years. Even in retirement, she volunteered at local hospitals, vaccine clinics, food banks, hospice and her beloved church of St. Mary.</p><p><br></p><p>However, it is said, the best chapters of her life will be written as raising three beautiful children and enjoying five precious grandchildren with her husband Steve. She enjoyed the beach house on LBI, sister’s weekends, reading historical fiction, long walks, vacation adventures and traveling with family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>During the past year and a half of her life, Debbie bravely fought cancer, but was determined to make more memories with the people she loved.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St Mary Roman Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Debbie’s name may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church at the address above.
