McLaren F1 GTR #11R was 1 of 9 1996-spec. GTRs built, chassis 11R was delivered new to the Giroix Racing Team to replace 07R (1995 Le Mans) with backing from the Franck Muller Watch company. It started off in plain white at Paul Ricard, Monza, and Jarama and then switched to black over orange at Silverstone, Le Mans, Suzuka, and Zhuhai. (coming soon!) For the two end-of-season Temporada exhibition races at Curitiba and Brasilia #11R was again white, black, and red, with backing from Hollywood cigarettes.The team?EUR(TM)s best results of the year were second-place finishes at Monza, Curitiba, and Brasilia.08/12/1996 TEM Curitiba 2 Hours (M.
